Wheat is the oval grain of Triticum aestivum plant, with blunt tip and tuff hairs. Ventral surface has a deep central groove, 6-8 mm in length passing through it. At the base of the dorsal side is an embryo containing about 6% of the grain. It is made up of 82-86% glutinous starch (endosperm) bran or seed coat about 13% and germ 2%.
